yankee.JPGAccording to a new report from Yankee Group going mobile can make workers more productive. So, just because your colleague spends more time on the road than at his desk, don’t think he’s not getting any work done. According to the report from the Yankee Group Attitude & Behavior Surveys 43 percent of the most valuable employees are mobile. About half of employees today are spending at least 20 percent of their time away from their desks.

  • I don’t agree; I work at an office where all the bus. people have their blackberries, and they use them as an excuse to be away from their desk. ‘Oh you can reach me at my blackberry’.

They send an email or two from the PDA/mobile during weekend or late night hours and people get the impression that they’re doing more work; but it’s an illusion.

I’m so bitter about being stuck at a desk.
