File this one under the “There I said it” category. Or more accurately the “Roger said it” category. Finally someone has spoken up about the direction that this next generation of handsets is taking, and I couldn’t agree more. Do we really need touch screen phones such as the Prada or the iPhone? What’s happening on the voice centric side asks Roger? Good point. A phone that works with voice… now that would be truly smart!
And size. The iPhone is going to be huge. Isn’t smaller suppose to be better with portable devices? Of course for mobile Web and gaming, size matters. Well, guess we can’t have everything.
Hearing Voices in My Head [Roger’s Take on the Wireless World]

Voice commands are completely obtrusive. Who wants to be sitting next to some guy on a train and hear him saying “Voicemail” “Next” “Delete” “Next”… I certainly don’t.
Time and place for each.
We’ll need keyboards (for privacy) and voice interface is good for driving.
This is why RIMM does not get knocked off by iphone
