Google From Your Handset
by Peter Suciu on July 17, 2007

google1.jpgThe big G has dominated search from the desktop, and now Google Inc. is developing a new search service for mobile phones. The Wall Street Journal Online is reporting today that this service is being developed to help users find and buy ringtones, games and other mobile content. And while Google already offers mobile users a version of their search engine, the company has its sights on becoming a major portal for mobile media content.

According to the Journal the company has been working for months with content providers to index content to make it more readily available via a mobile search. Delays highlight the learning curve that Google is going through. Conquering the online world from the desktop it seems is easy enough, but tackling the mobile space is proving to be more complicated, even for Google.
