Agree with the first sentence, companies file patents for many reasons... a patent in and of itself doesn&#039;t mean the company will develop a product based on it.

But your second sentence is PATENTLY untrue.  Perpetual motion machines are  in a class of devices that is specifically prohibited from getting patents by the Patent Office; it&#039;s unlikely that they&#039;d be &#039;full of designs&#039; of such devices! LOL</description>
