GetMobio is a cellphone based application platform that brings a lot of advanced applications to non-smart phones. They’ve been releasing a steady stream of new applications since launching earlier this year. They have applications for movies, trivia, cheap gas, and more. Now they’re releasing a recipe app that makes it easy for those not blessed with an iPhone to find meals while on the go.

Then there’s RoboCal, which gives you read access to your Google Calendar, and also turn-by-turn driving directions, served up by Google Driving Directions API. Look for location-aware voice notes mapped to Google Maps soon.
You don’t need a special phone, unless you want the GPS, in which case, $3/mo to uLocate gets you the RoboCal widget, and others as well.
