Zinio partners up with a number of popular real world magazines to offer online, paperless versions for a few bucks a pop. They’ve got a fairly hefty selection, offering everything from Organic Gardening magazine to the slightly less work friendly Penthouse.
They just started rolling out an iPhone optimized version of their service, currently covering 20 different magazines. The best part? Where as the PC version will set you back a few bucks per issue, iPhone users can browse through the mags for free — for the time being, at least. No word yet whether this will stay free – so be sure to check it out while the gettins good.
You can check it out at: http://www.zinio.com/iphone
The available magazines:
- U.S News and World Report
- Playboy
- Saveur
- Popular Photography
- Men’s Health
- Kiplinger’s
- Popular Mechanics
- Penthouse
- Viv
- Car and Driver
- PC Magazine
- Elle
- Technology Review
- Outside
- Macworld UK
- Esquire UK
- NME
- Lonely Planet
- Macworld EspaƱol
- Reader’s Digest
While there probably isn’t any question which two magazines will be the most popular, I’m pretty sure they wont be Kiplinger’s and Viv.

This is the first time I heard about the company. Wouldn’t they get sued if they simply scan the images, upload it on their website, and charge a fee for it?
Agree with #1. surely they are paying royalties for the rights or they will be sued…
@1 and 2:
Oof! I could have worded the description better; Zinio partners with the big publishing companies to offer the service. Totally legit operation. Post edited for clarification.
