Lambasted by bloggers around the globe for its laundry list of issues, MobileMe hasn’t had the best start.

Turns out the critics aren’t alone in thinking it wasn’t ready for prime time. In an internal e-mail that was pretty much guaranteed to leak, Steve Jobs acknowledged that MobileMe was “not up to Apple’s standards” after a rushed and improperly handled launch.

In terms of product launches, July 11th was a huge day for Apple. With the iPhone 3g, iPhone 2.0 software, and the App Store all launching pretty much simultaneously, Jobs goes on to say that it “was a mistake” to try to squeeze in MobileMe. “We all had more than enough to do, and MobileMe could have been delayed without consequence.”

The letter also contained a morsel of business, outlining a management reorganization which places Eddy Cue, iTunes VP, at the reigns of the App Store and MobileMe. The App Store has been damned near flawless since day one, so it’s not too tough to guess which ones going to be the priority.
