Samsung Instinct getting firmware updates
by Teresa von Fuchs on August 15, 2008

Sprint started pushing firmware updates to Samsung Instinct users yesterday; applications as they are opened will prompt users to download the update. Though Sprint warns that “applications are updated by the vendor, and vendors set their own schedules.”

Update highlights include: reduced system busy errors for large picturemails; better browser access to Yahoo, Hotmail, Best Buy and YouTube; reduced pausing, freezing and flashing during streaming video playback and more features across applications like navigation, e-mail, the music store, visual voicemail and mobile sync.

User comments vary from “dude, where’s my update?” to “now my e-mail doesn’t work.”

We’re hoping the bugs get worked out, and everyone gets their update soon.
