  • Why not just watch the 7 minutes video at Gizmodo?

  • Android is based on Linux and it feels like a Linux desktop…

  • The clock on 1st pic has MAEMO written on it.
Nokia developers developing apps on Android? Then what is the fuss about?

  • omg. android failed. could someone hire a GUI designer?????

  • khang, its open source so go ahead and get cracking on that better gui you want. Seriously, its open source, you could do whatever you wanted with it. I am sure once the official SDK is released, themes will begin to popup all over the place, maybe even at my site:
    http://www.myhtcphone.com

    Who knows

  • Before criticizing the gui you need to download the emulator and try it out. Screenshots can not show you how the gui works. From my experience using the emulator it works incredibly well, and that is using the mouse rather then touch. Their gui designers are actually VERY talented. As an independent developer I wish I had their skills (and resources).

  • Maemo! That’s pretty funny - I’ll bet someone ported the clock app from Maemo (which is Nokia’s flavor of Linux and runs on their “Internet Tablets”) and didn’t even notice that the Maemo label was still there. Wanna bet it will say “Android” on the next release? As for the “big deal” - come on, you must know this is not just a Maemo port.

And khang - are you kidding? Your comment must be based on the particular style shown, which is irrelevant, since, as Eddie Monge pointed out, that’s the first thing that will change. In terms of functionality, this GUI is a huge move forward, although you obviously can’t see that from a bunch of screen shots.

  • I think it says Malmo, which is the third largest city in Sweden.

  • Check out the google snapshot & the bottom left button??

  • This will have a keyboard, which slides simultaneously formatting into landscape right?? So I take it these are just from the emulator, b/c I would like to see some landscape views, anyone??
