Although ABI differentiates the 2, the author of this article seems to contrast femtocells with FMC. Femtocells are an in-building access technology, like WiFi. FMC can utilize different access technologies, but is the convergence of fixed and mobile - basically making the mobile an extension of the desk - and is independent of the type of access technology used by the mobile, whether cellular, WiFi or femto. While some niche vendor solutions require WiFi, it's short-sighted to equate or contrast femtos - or WiFi for that matter - with FMC; the technologies don't have to be mutually exclusive.
