Sprint has just announced that they’ll be adding two more Motorola handsets to their rugged lineup: the Renegade V950 (on right), and the i365 (on left).

Both are iDen/Direct Connect compatible, and meet mil-spec requirements for durability against blowing rain, dust, shock, and vibration. For military folk and construction workers, that means it’ll come out unscathed after a day on the field. For everyone else, that means it’ll make it through a night at the club - even if you’re one of those people who get irate and throw their phones at the ground after 2 virgin daiquiris.

The V950 is packin’ a 2.0 megapixel camera, MicroSD support, Bluetooth, and Group Connect support, while the I365’s got GPS, Bluetooth, and support for two lines.

Not to disappoint anyone by straying from my normal Moto-bashing, but .. someone on Moto’s design team deserves a raise and a bag of cookies for the V950. Not because it’s horribly original or even all that amazing looking, but because they’ve managed to make a rugged phone that I don’t want to “test” by rolling over it with a truck. It’s the first rugged phone I’ve seen that I can actually imagine anyone using.
