This is ridiculous. My phone already has the capability of adding groups. I don't need a website to do it for me and then throw an ad on the end of it. Is my phone the exception or are people just lazy?

They are positioned well for the growing mobile marketing industry that is expected to grow from $878 million last year to $1.7 billion by the end of 2008.

Tatango was also featured on College Mogul, a "TechCrunch" inspired site for college startups and technology.

Siam - You should also check out zenect @ http://www.zenect.com. it's similar to tatango and twitter, except you can run your own ad network too - you can control the ads that show up on your messages. pretty cool.

Currently Tatango is only available in the US, but we are in talks right now to take it international. Keep up to date on our progress on the Tatango blog here: http://www.tatango.com/blog

Concerning your second question, we actually built the Tatango Pro account for that type of purpose. If you check it out and we are missing something, please let us know.

Nice. Is it available outside of the US? And is a license model foreseen so businesses or agencies can load their own advertisers?

I don't see why not? With our Tatango Pro account we allow groups the ability to remove the Tatango advertising from their messages. For more information on the Tatango Pro account, click here: https://tatango.com/subscription

I wonder, if I find interested advertisers, would I be able to make money off of these SMS updates to my group members? I doubt it, but figured I'd throw it out there for people who are interested (sort of like a Google AdSense thing for SMS blasts).
