AT&T and Samsung have announced the Rugby, a handset that might just last longer than any of us. Its a rugged handset (Rugged. Rugby. Get it? Hah! Genius, Samsung. Genius.), military-spec’d for “dust, shock, vibration, rain, humidity, solar radiation, altitude and temperature extremes.” It’s luggin’ aGPS, Push-to-talk, Video Share, Bluetooth, 3G, quad band radio, and a 1.3 megapixel camera in its rubber and metal casing.

If your current phones just can’t handle the daily sandstorms and freak solar radiation, you can pick one of these up for $129.99 on a two-year contract.

  • Has anybody heard of the Sonim XP3? It’s a tough phone too, but I can’t seem to find when it will be released in the US and what service it will be on. And does anybody know how these two compare? The company has some really cool vids on their site http://www.toughestphone.com
