With the first Android-powered handset launch just around the corner, Google’s finally getting around to showing the OS up and running on a live handset — albeit with a bit of tape covering up some unmentionables on the hardware itself. They showed the goods today at Google’s Developer Day today in London, and some chap in the audience managed to get it all on video. Youtube’s compression doesn’t exactly bring out the details, but hopefully a high-res copy will make its way out sooner than later.

It’ll really be interesting to see how the market evolves with the arrival of Android-enabled handsets and how the iPhone market reacts.
Thanks for the video!
We’re stoked about the upcoming release. The much delayed (but looking like it’s worth the wait) Gphone is looking pretty sweet. Plus with the open SDK no doubt we’re going to see a slew of apps and developers. Hopefully no audacious $900 jewels… Wireless Providers should all be signing deals so we’re not just left with T-Mobile.
From what I see from the video I am impressed so far. The OS seems to run smooth and fluid and the device seems decent also. If the price is not too high I will purchase an android device
