While we’ve known a bit about T-Mobile’s 3G rollout plans for a while, it has all come from hearsay and posters taped to windows.
T-Mobile finally came out and announced their plans this morning with a good ol’ fashion press release: 27 markets by the end of 2008, with 21 of those swimmin’ in the 3G waves by mid-October. It’s all pretty close to what we’ve been hearing whispers of for weeks, just with a couple of markets slipping under different launch windows.
Check after the jump for a breakdown of all the cities.
Markets currently with T-Mobile 3G (13):
- Austin
- Baltimore
- Boston
- Dallas
- Houston
- Las Vegas
- Miami
- Minneapolis
- New York/New Jersey/Long Island
- Phoenix
- Portland
- San Antonio
- San Diego
Markets getting T-Mobile 3G by mid-October (8):
- Atlanta
- Chicago
- Los Angeles
- Orlando
- Philadelphia

Markets getting T-Mobile 3G by the end of 2008 (6):

Wow, DC’s not in there. So much for t mobile then!
How they hell is DC now in there and stupid Baltimore is? Or Birmingham, Tampa and Kansas City. I am looking forward to the Dream, but honestly this is bullshit!
What? No Davenport?
I don’t think tmo has enough 3G handsets to make this worth it yet.
Don’t think this will make much difference. T-Mob will no doubt have skimped on the investment and there will still be huge dead zones across all of the cities listed.
From those comments it sounds like T-Mobile is keeping up it’s UK reputation for poor coverage across the pond…
Shoot I wish this would come to my area.
Daaaamit, no DC. Dream just moved from top to bottom of my list. Why couldn’t Bberry just put a slide out on the Storm!
Is T-mobile’s service in Houston any good? I’ve been hearing a lot of complaining about it during the aftermath of Hurricane Ike. It seems that, in my area anyway, T-mobile’s service was affected the most by the storm.
