Just in time to ride the tide of excitement from today’s G1 announcement, Google has released a video detailing all of the “google goodies that come preloaded” on the handset: Search, Maps, Gmail, Contacts, Calendar, and IM (Google Talk), with a strong emphasis on the over-the-air sync functionality.
I can’t imagine what the “erick.the.cyclist@gmail.com” account inbox will look like in a few hours.

Wow, it’s more of an extension of Google than I thought it would be. I wonder if other android ‘firmwares’ will start showing up to make this less of a Google phone and more of a general purpose one.
I can’t believe they’re integrating and synching with Google contacts, when Google contacts is so horrible!
That’s exactly what I was thinking.
They should make it more simpler syncing with mac Address book or with Win Outlook..
Well, the plus side is this is free, and doesn’t cost whatever dot mac does.
It’s actually possible to make address book sync with Google contacts if you have leopard. Not the most elegant solution but possibly less annoying than constantly dealing with Google contacts.
