With the iPhone 3G software unlock being set loose tomorrow, we were hoping to sit down and have a chat with the ones behind the handy work. We got into contact with the Dev Team and, sure enough, they were down to spare a bit of time on the eve of their big release.
We’ve only got a few hours before we’ve gotta finalize our questions, but we figured our readers might have a few inquiries of their own. Post’em down in the comments below – we’ll pick a handful from that lot and do our damnedest to make sure they get asked. Remember, these are the guys behind QuickPwn (for jailbreaking), the first-gen iPhone unlock, and now, the iPhone 3G unlock – if it’s an unofficial means of making your iPhone better, they probably had a hand in it.
Greg I just got back from India where I picked up an iPhone and I’m not able to get it to work out here. I’ve tried Cingular with no luck; Is AT&T my only go or will this iPhone unlock be an update or is it part of the iPhones that are coming out.
Suggestions appreciated!
I’d imagine that tomorrows unlock will do the trick, but you need to have not updated your iPhone recently. Apple fixed the exploit in the latest firmware – unless you’re on 2.11.07 or earlier, you might be out of luck.

Does the iPhone Camera app have an untapped zoom feature in it? I was taking pics of my mom at dinner one day, showed it to her and zoomed to show here something on her neck and went back to the camera function and it was in a zoom like mode. It took me about 5 minutes of playing around with the camera, photo album, turning it on and off to finally get it back to normal.
In zoom function it was taking zoomed pics so that is why I ask is I know there is a zoom ability so why it hasn’t been activated?
I have the 1st Gen iPhone 8gig and it was purchased refurbished (with a fingerprint on the inside of the lens) from AT&T.
I think what I and many more are wondering about:
1.) Is there some kind of method to downgrade our baseband if we upgraded to 2.2 (and 2.28 basedband)
and
2.) Is the team working on an unlock method for the 2.2 firmware (with the upgraded basedband)?
1) Did you have any problems ever with apple? Like lawsuits or something?
2) What chances are there to brick my iPhone 3G while unlocking it with the new software? And even if I do brick it, will it be possible to restore it like I did once when my iPhone stopped responding while using installer?
is there going to be a jailbreak for the 2g iPod touch??
I would love to know:
How they think the iphone app development scene we have seen emerge over the last couple of years will influence the development of other (perhaps non-apple) products in the future.

I am having a problem with my iphone 3G, firmware 2.2.1, I have jailbroken it and installed winterboard, but after downloading some themes…the springboard crushed and required that I restart the springboard or re-boot, I did all these but it remains the same; with a grey background and writing that its running on ’safe-mode’. I then went to general settings and RESET SETTINGS, thats when it restarts with a fine springboard, but with no theme activated, the moment I activate any theme or just anything in my winterboard…the springboard crushes again. I have restored it, jailbroken again…downloaded some themes…and now its happening again. why do my winterboard themes crush my springboard? please help
