He wasn't making a negative statement about Mexico. He was making a statement about the more-than-likely negative perceptions SOME members of the audience might have of Mexico. In other words, he was slamming those in the audience who hold those backward perceptions while at the same time promoting the modernity and progressiveness of Mexico that HE'S EXPERIENCED FIRSTHAND. Now, you might want to re-interpret and re-think your position on his comments and maybe redeem yourself with an acknowledgement that you blew it.

"Yes, we have phones and internet in Mexico", WTF is wrong with this guy!!!!???!!!??? He should be aware of what Mexico's bussines means to his poor designed, lazy OS, wanna be kind of brand, before spiting out this sort of comments. He should also know that TELMEX, TELCEL, AMERICA MOVIL, IUSACEL and so on, are TOP GLOBAL BRANDS and that one of them could easily buy that ugly, no worthie, cheap company named PALM.
Now I have NO respect for this brand or w h a t s o e v e r.

It is amazing that Palm finally came through with a product and platform that crosses the bar set by iPhone. The UI and gestures seem to be better than in my iPhone, and switching between applications and un-obstructing notifications seems classy, and I want to connected to the cloud the way Pre does it man! Can't wait for the product to be available!

In some ways it's a better user interface than the iphone - kind of what you would expect in a next generation iphone with the live windows. Hopefully Palm has the resources to give Apple a run for their money - someone has to, it's good for the industry.

After having watched the video I can say the Palm Pre kicks iPhone’s ass in terms of usability, multi-tasking with flipping applications, seamless integration of the cloud, checking the calendar while on the speaker phone, unobstrusive notifications. Wow!

Great keynote. Elegant and gorgeous WebOS..

But...

Sprint blows ass - worse than AT&T.

Two great devices - the iPhone and Palm Pre. Neither of which I'll get to use because of the shitty carrier.

I hope "Google Phone" version 2 comes out soon. My Sprint contract ends next month.

End of 1st half 2009? Did they just effectively put up a stop sign for potential buyers of their existing products for the next six months? That is a long holding period to suffer through with revenue drops.

I saw the presentation this morning and I found it very "Steve Jobs Keynote" like, which isn't a bad thing. People finally starting to get something that Apple knew for a long time: first impression is crucial and you only have one chance to do it right.

Good job, though I'm not a fan of design of the hardware itself.
