Verizon’s solution for improving your wireless coverage indoors is this network extender. The $250 device works like a mini cell phone tower with a 5,000 feet range. It seems all you need to do is plug the device into a high speed connection and place it by the window for GPS reasons. That’s it. Three Verizon phones can utilize the device for a better connection voice calls but unfortunately, it doesn’t do anything for EVDO or GPS services. Oh, and there isn’t any monthly fees. Just that $250 entrance fee.

  • I’ve heard they are charging by data for this thing. I wonder how they could justify that when it’s your* internet connection from the beginning.

This looks pretty cool and I can think of a lot of apps for this, but I wonder how much attention you’d get throwing out signal for 5,000 feet in an urban area? I’d be worry about getting the connection compromised. I’m checking for updates here to figure that issue out.
