After making the exciting journey from friend-to-friend and scanner-to-internet, a document detailing the launch details for the Samsung Memoir has been leaked for all to enjoy. The good news? In just under a month, we’ll all be able to enjoy the Samsung Memoir in all of its 8-megapixel glory. The bad news? It’ll apparently set you back 300 greenbacks – and that’s after rebates. Yikes.
We’ve known for some time now that the Memoir (or, as those namedropping model numbers will call it so that their friends think they’re super awesome, the T929) carries GPS, Stereo Bluetooth, myFaves support and that, unfortunately, it probably won’t be much of a smartphone due to the TouchWiz (the non-Windows Mobile variant) user interface. Freshly leaked as of late is word that it’ll also rock a Xenon flash, autofocus, 16x digital zoom. Oh, and that it’s targeted at “Family focused amateur photographers, 30-45 years old”.
So what do you think, family focused amateur photographers between 30 and 45 years old? Would you drop 300 bucks for an 8-megapixel shooter with a relatively limited OS when it drops on February 25th?

I’d really like a phone with a better camera, but as a late-20 something family focused guy, 300 bones is a lot to spend on a phone.
Drop it to $200 and I’ll put some serious thought into it.
I am 22 and I just want some kind of satisfaction from a tmobile device. ALL TMOBILE PHONES SUCK. It better be wifi enabled and the camera is pointless, this is 2009. I hope it comes in an all aluminum shell and they need to take note from sony to make the os look cool. the touch wiz is ok, its just dull and boring as hell. For a customer who has to renew in order to not pay like 600 bucks..I say eff you tmobile..when my contract is up, I am going with verizon or ATT. yall suck and so does your 8MP POS
I am the 30-45 family oriented man and would love to take better kid-and-wife photos, but $300 is not happening this year- not when I need a solid Windows-based phone to keep bread and milk flowing at home. Sorry T-Mobile, will keep using my used-and-abused Dash until something better comes along.
yo, jimmieray, I hear yah. been using a wm phone for a long time. It ain’t so shiny but it does what I want, so leave this to the kids who can afford a new gadget
