Want to know something I learned today? If you forget the power adapter required for making US style plugs play friendly with the outlets in Spain and happen to have arrived on a Sunday, you are screwed. All the stores are closed and, if your hotel is like mine, the “concierge” dude sitting at the front desk watching spanish Futurama doesn’t give a crap. Oh, and I also learned all about the Sony Ericsson “Idou”. Sort of.
While Sony Ericsson technically announced the Idou, they’re not saying all that much about it. We know that it’s rocking a 12.1 megapixel camera, a 3.5″ 16:9 touchscreen, and – get this – a yet-to-be-finished version of Symbian. To top it all off, “Idou” isn’t actually the final name. It’s an odd announcement – but seeing as the camera is probably going to be the selling point here regardless, I suppose they’ve said all they need to.

i’m a big fan of sony ericsson. most of the phones i had in my lifetime were ericsson and sony ericsson. No “major” disappointments so far. the phones are too expensive though. this might go for about a grand when it’s all over:(. I may still get it though.
I luv to use sony ericsson handset,bcoz of its awsome features lik music,wap,graphics and all…& i,m vry happy to hv such a beautiful handset in the Indian market,dis hANDSET CONTAINS all features lik 3g,wifi,12.1 mp cam…wat else we want nw ….instead of buying a digicam ….i,m sure people will go with dis handset…

well, what a day for Microsoft. After a brief time (slightly longer than a year and one model) together, now Sony got Microsoft out of the way.
Yeah, X1 was good, but it has all the stink of a Microsoft OS. I don’t know how good is Symbian, but seems like they are pretty down to the basic and are fully catered for the need of mobile device (well, in comparison to Micro at least). Using the system will certainly adding the anti-micro underdog status to the device.

This should be the best smartphone ever exist in the WORLD only if SONYERICSSON thinks about memory of this phone. It’s the time for him to build a phone with a big internal memory such as iphone (8 and 16 gb) or NOKIA. Why not our IDOOU with 32 or 64 GB ???
I have an Ericsson, and it is the best phone in the world! Everything about it is perfect, but it has room to grow i guess, so maybe this phone will blow the world out of the water!! You rock Ericsson!!!!

memory in built how much & expand upto how much gb maximum & it will hang or not. & yahoo, gmail, hotmail dis type of msgnr support dis mobile as the same works in pc.

My first phone evr was a nokia brick. I got this in I think 1998. Mobiles were only just starting to take off and they were all bricks. Then Ericsson came out with this slim one, which I had to have to replace my brick that I only had for a few months. Later in that year Ericsson came out with an even smater slim phone to the one I had. Back then Ericssons lead the way as slowly as people started to get mobiles, they were picking up Ericssons.
Today you see more Sony Ericsson phone in peoples hands than any other models. Well I do when travelling on public transport. I see more people listening to music using Sony Ericsson than I see people doing the same with an Ipod.
I have a walkman with the bluetoothe headphones, yet to see anyone else with one yet.

Im impress with the Idou phone. But all my friends have an Iphone and what makes their phone cool is the apllication from linux. I have a C905 sony ericcsson , now this phone is super cool 8.1 megapixel and everything it comes with. I Would like to see application more in the Idou ericcsson. I’m sony/sony ericcsson follower. Beat the Iphone yaaaa!!!!

The Sony Ericsson ‘Idou’ rumoured to be released July 09. Possibly blow away the iPhone..? With an exceptional 12.1megapixel camera, new entertainment world.
Though it doesn’t break any new design ground, the Idou is a striking handset in many regards. The 3.5-inch display covers almost all of the phone’s front face. It has a filmstriplike effect where you can move between different photos by swiping your finger. It’s attractive and it appears to be responsive. Finger swiping also works in other areas of the display interface.
Colors were bright and graphics were rich and vibrant. Of course, the Idou displays video in landscape mode. On the whole, the media experience looks quite promising.
The company will make a formal announcement of the Idou by the summer. At that point it also will reveal the phone’s official name.
All I want to know is WHEN is this Sony Ericsson Idou availabe in Australia?
