What’s this? Windows CE and Android running on the same device? Is the universe collapsing into a black hole? Oh noes!
VMWare says it’s in talks with handset manufacturers to offer this sort of virtualization but somehow we doubt we will see this outside of geekland anytime soon. It seems a tad over the head of the average consumer. Still, a great proof of concept and something most of us would love to play with.

Another solution in search of a problem. Mobile CE and Android running on top of Symbian?
If they can only run iPhone and Pre on top of Symbian, maybe it would be useful.
Nokia has too much money – not enough focus. Despite being the market leader in cell phones, they desperately need a strategy. Otherwise, they become the Dell of cheap phones – locked in the low-margin, low-growth, basement business.

Actually N800 is not running Symbian but Mameo platform which is based on Linux kernel. The demo here was done by VmWare which is owned by EMC in big part. Nokia just provides N800 as a good platform for something like this (VMWare ESX is running in Linux kernel too).
Thanks for the technical correction. Good to know.
