I think this demo’s really pretty amazing, given that it’s emulation and of a stylus-based OS at that. One can’t take this as indicative of the Pre’s overall touch performance–only of the Pre’s emulation of resistive touch, which seems impressive to me. Everything I’ve seen of the Pre’s “native” capacitive touch has been incredibly responsive and smooth, so I’m pretty optimistic overall.

the touch doesn’t look like it works too well. definitely not as responsive as the iPhone. i had a treo before the iPhone. Hated every minute of it. for Palm’s sake, I hope this is better.

how about pdanet…

I’ve seen tons of people questioning if that will work.
It does not require a hotsync, though it does require some connection to a pc(bluetooth).
It says that classic will not have access to phone radio, bluetooth, gps, etc., but an app that needs the internet will have it.
If an app wants to establish a bluetooth connection, then will it have that as well?

The UI looks clunky.

The 5-way navigation would look redundant at times when just tapping on an icon will do.

I can’t wait to get my hands on one of these, it will make my life so much easier! Not to mention it is probably one of the coolest toys on 2009. I am not a fan of Mac and didn’t buy an iPhone, this is my replacement! Regards!
