I have done it and the Cupcake is indeed tasty. There should be some lag between the HTC dev firmware release vs the Tmobile G1 retail firmware release because dev firmware doesn't include G1 sales apps like Amazon MP3 stuff.(which is better in my opinion) The 1.5 Cupcake is released only onto the G1 Dev Phones.
