You may have gotten something in your inbox lately from Sprint giving you the chance to win a Palm Pre on launch. Two interesting tidbits are buried in the contest rules – first, the phone will cost $542.01 (presumably for an unsubsidized model with accessories) and second they’re drawing a winner on May 26 which suggests that the Pre will be launched around then.
Keep in mind that this is all conjecture but it does seem to suggest that the phone will be available sooner than later and since it’s already been floating around the Bay Area it makes sense that we can expect it later this month or early June – definitely before WWDC.
Hmm…I got that email and here is what I took from it.
1) Drawing May 26 – then up to 5 days to reply, and then shipping it to you etc, so you get it about – JUNE 7 <–still a good release date.
2) PRICE – I took the price to include phone, plan, and charger. ($200 (contract price), plan (169?), and charger ($69) = about $500.00.
