Whether it was an intentional leak or someone just missed the “Private” button, we’re not sure – but for just a few hours today, a promo video for the as-of-yet unannounced HTC Hero found its way online.
It was taken down pretty quick, but not before the guys over at AndroidCommunity managed to snatch it up for reposting. It doesn’t show much we haven’t seen already (Rosie UI, interface changes, and that the Hero has one hell of a chin on it), but it does give us a glimpse at the color schemes that we might be seeing later: Neon Yellow, Red, Orange, Pink, White, Turquoise, and good ol’ Black.
Video after the jump.

What is the fonctional idea behind this “chin”, what does it had to the user experience? It is ugly like hell.

how can the same company copy its own design HTC made both the G1 and Hero. fail.
If it’s the same company, than it’s not copying. It’s just using :D
By way of example, you wouldn’t say that the iphone 3GS is “copying” the iphone 3G’s design, would you?
I agree that “chin” makes me wanna punch it! Very ugly.
I don’t know why, but I like the chin. Also it looks great on HTC Magic, so I have no problem with it.
Hopefully this HTC Hero comes with Android 2.0 “Donut” :)
I’ve been pondering the purchase of a G1 for quite sometime, and if T-mobile sells this phone I may consider it as well… But the chin does cause me some concern. Doesn’t it make the phone much less pocket-friendly?
That chin thing does not look like it would be comfortable in your pocket
The “chin” is designed to prevent damage to the trackball (I presume) and perhaps to stop the buttons being pressed accidentally.
