HI

I would like to ask you a few more questions if you dont mind.

1. DO you have the following original APLLE IPHONES unlocked with: 3G with 16GB and 3GS with 32GB?

2. Does the APPLE IPHONES have warranty on it?

3. Is the spelling of the phoen I-P-H-O-N-E?

4. Is the following writen on the back of the IPHONE: Designed by Apple in california Assembled in china?

5. Also could we buy a sample of the phone and if it's what we want we could order more?
                                                                            THANK YOU

Here in Brazil it's kinda insane.
The Vivo carrier charges the iPhone 3G 8GB at the 50min + 100 SMS and 250MB plan for R$1.500,00
It's like 773,79 USD

If the 3G costs like that, I just don't wanna even think about the 3G S one.
Electronic stuff here are reaaaaaally expensive =/

Does anyone know what the early termination fee is? I heard that AT&T is getting $250 _plus_ the first three months service but I can't confirm.

Looking forward to the day I can just buy an iPhone [without a service plan] from the Apple Store and using it with my GSM provider without hacking. Not holding my breath ...

To me the value is in the new OS. iPhone OS 3.0 is free to all new and old iPhone owners. The new OS will be faster even on the old 3G iPhone and packs a ton of new features.

I can live without the 3GS faster processor and the 3GS video camera. Although the extra 8Gig of RAM would be nice.

We can all complain that AT&T is ripping us off, but we all signed a contract and knew the terms we agreed to.

I am happy with the 3G iPhone and am looking forward to installing OS 3.0.....at no cost.

No, it's still locked to ATT so you have to have an account with them, you just don't have to re-up for another 2 years. If you want an unlocked iphone that you can use with any carrier in any country etc, they're out there - a quick google search will bring up plenty of providers.

Exactly. Even though I would love to have the new phone, there is no way I am ready to bend over and take it from Apple/ATT. Those prices are ridiculous.

Vote with your wallet. I would love to see the sales in the US drop and let them figure out the cause.

Hoping that the 3.0 upgrade will keep me happy until I qualify for the lower pricing January next year :( If not, I can add my 10 yr old daughter to our att family plan to get the 32gb 3GS then swap the sim card :D

I'm eligible for a free upgrade in only 17 months after my purchase (Nov 15 2008 to April 7, 2010). But I'll just wait until June 2010 and get the iPhone 4G with 64 gigs of memory for $299.

Comparable handset is the Nokia 5800 and it has most of the features that Apple are releasing on the iPhone but for a fraction of the cost. True, that the iPhone music capabilities and iTunes is so much better than the Nokia offering but asides that, it's pretty much the same feature for feature with the exception of App Store - Nokia really are behind for applications.

That link you gave for apples website?

$199(1)
16GB

see that little 1 next to the price?

scroll down the page and see:
(1) Requires new two-year AT&T wireless service contract, sold separately to qualified customers; credit check required; must be 18 or older. For non-qualified customers, including existing AT&T customers who want to upgrade from another phone or replace an iPhone 3G, the price with a new two-year agreement is $499 (8GB), $599 (16GB), or $699 (32GB).

Just used the wizard at buyiphone.apple.com and it confirmed that my 1G iPhone (despite being within the 2 year contract period) is eligible for a $299 new 3GS.

Yeah! June 19th here I come.

I think you're leaving out 1st Gen (non-3G) iPhone users, who didn't get a subsidized phone, and should (and it has been reported) get the phones for the 'new customer' rates plus a $16 upgrade fee (so it's been written).

Fact that we didn't get/take the $200 subsidy as it wasn't available then makes this make perfect sense. I expect we'll have to sign new 2-year extension and get the $299 (for 32G) price. This is exactly how they let 1G customers upgrade to 3G.

Would be great if you could confirm this.

argh you beat me to it by a minute. If you lose your iPhone and have to replace it, an 8gb might not be the worst thing in the world if it's substantially cheaper.

please...please tell me of this phone that you speak of? What phone is $99, browses the web (through 3g and/or wifi) just like a computer (it looks the same), has a app store that is as thoroughly stocked and tested, has a camera, is completely touchscreen, has multi touch, can load your itunes, can purchase songs/videos straight onto your phone, can download podcasts straight to your phone, has as sleek an interface and is as well built, among other things?

I see slightly different numbers on the apple website:
http://www.apple.com/iphone/compare-iphones/

Here's a quote from the first line in the fineprint below:

"Requires new two-year AT&T wireless service contract, sold separately to qualified customers; credit check required; must be 18 or older. For non-qualified customers, including existing AT&T customers who want to upgrade from another phone or replace an iPhone 3G, the price with a new two-year agreement is $499 (8GB), $599 (16GB), or $699 (32GB). "

Where did you get the numbers 399 and 499 from?

It's $99 on contract? I thought you meant Pay as You Go then and got happy! The plans and prices in Britain are rubbish and that's why I won't be going for the iPhone.

After getting both the original iPhone and the iPhone 3G on the first days they were available, I'll be skipping this one.

You can call and complain - they *do* have ways around the upgrade restriction but you need to get the process moving... it takes a manager and a special unlock code or something. But if you find the right people they -can- reverse it. Good luck though :P
