n97

We knew it was coming this month and sure enough, the Nokia N97 is now available for $700 at Nokia Stores everywhere. 700 bones will net you Nokia’s flagship touchscreen device, unlocked and ready to make iPhones jealous everywhere. Well, maybe not the last part, but it’s still a solid device and worthy successor to the N95/N96.

But if the price still seems high – it is – wait until a carrier like T-Mobile or AT&T picks it up and subsidises the price. Who knows when that will happen or what carrier will pick it up, but chances are it’s coming. Other markets should get access to what Nokia calls a Mobile Computer shortly.

  • When you think about it, $700. That’s nearly $1000 for a phone…

We must love our gadgets so much :|

  • I’ll wait for the N900.

    • You know whats going to happen? Nokia’s going to take Apple’s place in the PC world.

Everyone will be developing Apps for the iPhone and thats why everyone will buy a new iPhone, yet the Nokia guys are going to say “oh well MY Nokia is better than the iPhone” blah blah blah…

And guess what… nobody cares. Once things standardize everyone goes where the apps are.

Sure Nokia might pull an Apple (Macs are making a comeback) but for the near future, Ze Iph0ne Kant B Beet!!!!!!

    • You forget to mention that N97 has 5 mega pixel camera. iPhone has only 3 mega pixels. Even latest Nokia S40 devices has more mega pixels than iPhone.

  • Still not available here in the Philippines. I’ve contacted a Nokia Store and they said they don’t have official pricing yet.

I figure it’s gonna cost somewhere near $830 here.

  • If they would just make an iphone with a hw keyboard that wasn’t from AT&NSA&T, i’d buy it.

  • In Finland (where they are manufactured), we will have to wait until July 9th, and pay USD 959 (w/ VAT). Sucks.

But the device is very very cool, surprisingly fast, and very critical for Nokia’s position in the smart phone market.

  • In india the price will be around $750.

  • I love my new found compainon the N97! I guess (from your statement) it is possible to love something to death. Lighten up on your grip kelador. Be gentle. The N97 is like a lightsaber, and you are like a jedi. You must be one with the force your N97 has. I believe it’s even more powerful then the deathstar itself.
(Hopefully you seen Star Wars. If not I could use other anologies, like Indiana Jones, James Bond, or Cinderella… much like the way Lord Dextro came to be, but thats another story.

Lord Dextro tends to ramble and is a bit of a kidder. If your having trouble with your device, I can’t think of a better place to get them sorted out.

Hope we can be of assistance, find me at http://www.NokiaN97Forum.com take care!
