My problem with this is that the government like to put their hands in everywhere instead of focusing on where taxes can make the biggest impact. Personally taxing the hell out of gas will force us to quit being gluts with gas hogs, and taxing the hell out of cigarettes,, even more than they are already, will force more to quit - whick will lower health costs.

I just feel taxes should be targeted to the better of our country, not to the detriment of business...

My company started withholding taxes for our work phones last year.

As such, many of us turned in our phones(that we didn't want in the first place) and it is now much harder to get in touch with an IT Field Tech.

I am sure that they will eventually end up getting us some sort of 2-way radio system as a result.

Absurdity is no defense to not having paid your taxes.

And while I'm no big fan of the IRS, let's not forget that the real vampire here is Congress with the silly-assed tax code.

Flat tax anyone?

This is the reason my employer stopped providing cell phones to employees. Instead of providing us the phone, we are given a stipend to use our personal phones and plans. Sounds like a good deal on the surface until you realize the stipend is taxable income. So, looks like either way, the employees are coming out on the bad end of all this.
