I have a legimate unlocked 32GB 3Gs iphone from Telstra and typed the link - http://bit.ly/telstra-iph into my iphone and presto it worked fantasic!

However, being a worried Telstra customer thinking that they might eventually introduce tethering I endeavoured to uninstall the profile that I downloaded earlier. BUT…….while I was able to remove the profile OK, the tethering remained unaffected by the removal of the profile.

Does anyone know why this has happened? Was it because it was a legit unlocked iphone or was it done when I downloaded the 3.0 software while restoring my iphone due to paid ($150) unlocking fee?

I’d love to know.

Thanks

I have a 16Gb original iPhone which was unlocked using PWNAGE and since then I have been able to upgrade to all subsequent Apple upgrades including the latest 3.0. I'm really keen on being able to sync with iTunes and not so much 3rd party apps.
Will the unlock for 3GS enable upgrades with all Apple releases?
Where would be be with the Dev Team?
Thanks.

I wonder if Apple is aware of these guys, and why they haven't done anything about them. Jailbreaking is against their rules, right?
