You might want to know that iRiver is making Bluetooth headsets now. Granted, the don’t look anything special; does any headset? Also, the first model, the A100, is currently only set for release in China.

There’s very little to address here. It supports Bluetooth 2.0, which means that most any phone purchased in the last five years should work with it just fine. Yes, including that fancy, new iPhone 3G S.

What I will address, briefly, is: why isn’t iRiver more popular in the U.S.? (I can’t speak to what happens, say, in Russia or the UK.) Look at the LPlayer. Looks pretty slick to me; it plays MP3s. What more do you want in a player? My guess is that, somehow, we’ve gotten used to the idea that iPod/iPhone = MP3 Player, and anything else is pure garbage. It’s unfortunate, I think. There’s plenty of cool stuff out there that doesn’t have an Apple logo on it.

  • It becomes really tricky when you are driving and your phone starts to ring. All the more when you are on the highway… and the mobile phone is always far away that you cannot grab it. In fact, a few days back, searching for the phone in my bag in the passenger seat, I came this close to a car accident. Fortunately, there were no cars near by so I was saved. Realizing how dangerous this is, I searched for bluetooth headset as soon as I got home. Since my mobile phone is Samsung brand, I though that using the same manufacturer would be… better fit….? So I focused on Samsung products and found WEP570.

Most of all, I liked the Vehicle Charging Adapter. I’ve been using it for two days now and my conclusion is “I made a good choice”, although, I don’t really think that there are huge differences in the features among brands as it only provides very simple function…

According to a friend who has been using Bluetooth headset for a long time, WEP570 provides superior connection and instant connection with the mobile phone. I compared mine with the Motorola product that my friend was using and connection with the phone was clearly way faster. Maybe it’s because my phone and headset are both from Samsung…

What I really like is the charger. You simply place it on the adapter and pick it up when you get a call. So easy! Simply plug it into the recharger and you don’t have to worry about where to place it. My friend told me that even though she/he has the Bluetooth headset, more often than not, she/he just reaches for the phone because she couldn’t reach the headset. Well, I guess WEP570 is quite good in various aspects.

If you drive a lot and make many important business calls, Bluetooth headset is a must!! I strongly believe that this is one area where you shouldn’t be hesitant to spend money. Getting into an accident surely would cost way more than buying a bluetooth headset. Based on my experience (well, a single experience…) I would recommend the same brand as the phone and one that provides a charging adaptor like WEP570.
