I am disappointed to find out that the voice control feature does not work when trying to voice dial through a bluetooth headset that has been paired with the phone. I am also surprised that there isn’t a zoom feature on the camera.

Still wondering if I should upgrade my 3G in hopes that there will be a 3.0 update to help with the voice control at least in the future.

First, an anecdote: when the iPhone first launched in 2007 I took it on a tour of Central Europe, namely Budapest and Warsaw. Communism had just fallen and the dreams of these benighted nations were dashed.

the speed upgrade is reason enough NOT to take this advice. it drastically changes the way you use the phone. no more waiting, no more ‘gee, do i open this app and wait?’ now you just do. the NYT app is lightening and no more crashes. maps? rawk! email? (iphone email blows) but at least it doesn’t bog the phone. i could go on. and video is really cool. i haven’t really tried voice command yet but i don’t put much faith in voice command.

short and pretty…. totally worth the next year you’ll get out of using this fast as shit phone…

I have a 3G and I miss a physical keyboard.
I was ~twice as fast on my BB when taking into consideration typing errors (due to lack of tactile feedback) and the speed the iphone can accept key input.

Well, after all the noise world wide about the falling of the Communism back in 1989, I’d say your history is not “hazy”, but rather unexsistant. Well, you’ve got right that Hungary is located in Central Europe, though. Oh, and for the record, Poland and Hungary weren’t communist but socialist nations.

In any case you may want to consider research before publishing, and mentioning your sources, just in case.

I have to disagree on one thing:

I really like the iphone.

I HATE the onscreen keyboard more than I hate life itself.

I would give the iphone a 9. Taking into account that god-awful keyboard, I give it a 5.

That big of a drop.

The keyboard actually makes me miss my Treo at times…

I have never read such utter nonsense. How can you publish work that is factually ignorant and so outrageously biased?

Techcrunch has a ridiculous iPhone bias. And this article is a new low. I am appalled.

The iPhone could not even take the Pepsi challenge with half the devices in Japan at the moment. Softbank have to give the damn device away.

The Pre knocks the iPhone out the park also. And the only reason that the Android devices don’t kill the iPhone off is that Jobs begged Google not to put multi-touch in for the first couple of years.

I understand what you mean, but this is not quite right. I have an early 2008 MacBook Pro that happily has and SD card slot in the side via the ExpressCard slot. The device is made by SanDisk and cost me $13. The only reason I would upgrade to the new MBP is the fact that the battery life is rather amazing.

Your comment regarding the camera is puzzling and almost even disturbing. Not to mention the whole communism bit. At least you recognize you’re a fanboy. Last but not least your comparison between the iPhone and RAZR is ridiculous. You don’t need to purchase a $100-$120 / month data & voice plan to buy the RAZR. I love how fanboys conveniently leave this part out when discussing the price and stress “it’s only $199!” Gimme a break.
