Well, some websites are saying 3.1 will be released on September 9th, and others are now saying the release - or availability of MMS by AT&T - is now set for September 25th. I wonder what the real story is?

Could someone who has used the beta version of the os 3.1 please tell me if it allows you to delete single call entries on the phone call Log without having to delete the whole damn lot. I love my iPhone but this basic function was left out in the 3.0 update which for me was a disappointment even then. With this feature on the os 3.1 my iPhone will truely be complete. Many thanks in advance.

Ive recently got an iphone 2g just to see how I was going to like it before I decided to make the jump into the 3G or 3GS, So far the phone is a joy to have. There are a few things about it that I can't stand but I don't think I will be looking back any time soon. MMS, I was so mad when I got the phone and found out that it didn't have it. I almost wanted to flush it down the pot. Bluetooth, Man what a shame... I used it for so many things. Sending, and recieveing everything and then my headset. I cussed for days about that. GPS.. not sure about everyone else but, I used it for finding my way around. I have no sense of direction and it was the one thing that I loved about my BB and the LG's that I had. Yes I never really got into the whole iPhone deal until I picked it up and actually messed around with it. I don't think I'll ever go back! I just think that if your going to make a product when everything else has this as already as default you would take it and run and make it a million times better than they did, not over look the fact that you have a new product and lure people in to buy a more expensive type and still haft to wait for an update... it really blows. APPLE WHAT R U THINKING?

So can anyone help me out with updateing my OS to 3.1 Beta? Where can I DL it and where do I go from there?

Remember: I'm new to the iPhone and have no clue where to look, Ive googled and waited and waited for the dang update and I cant wait anymore.... I WANT MY MMS!! AND I WANT IT NOW!! Email me @: Jenny5685@yahoo.com

Thanks guys!

Gah, the BlackBerry is the bain of my existence! I can't stand the fact that I have to configure yet ANOTHER piece of horrid software just to get Exchange sync. Not to mention the limitations such as no choice of carrier (iPhone can be unlocked, Windows Mobile is everywhere), horrible desktop software, horrible server software, EXPENSIVE all around, dated OS and hardware... OMG I HATE BLACKBERRY DEVICES!!!!!

I've been using mobiel devices for over a decade. I held onto a BlackBerry for about 2 months before switching to a PocketPC and have never looked back. Now I have an iPhone and a WM 6.5 device. Both smoke any BlackBerry in form and function. The BlackBerry is to mobile phones as AOL is to ISPs. You should just say no, regardless how popular it may be.

I am not a developer but a normal iphone user having problems with PUSH. The iphone does not push in sleep mode. Is there something in the pipeline to improve push in OS 3.1? thanks

I am a Corporate user who has been exposed to using other mobile phones that support Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync such as the Nokia E71, HP iPAQ 901 and Palm Treo Pro; all of which synchronizes my Coprporate Email, Calendar, Contacts and Tasks. I now have an iPhone 3GS, which also supports Exchange ActiveSync, but does not support synchronizing my “Tasks”. Would the iPhone Firmware 3.1 address the shortcoming of Syncing “Tasks” and possibly “Notes” with Microsoft Exchange 2007 ?

That's your example?! Dude, that's so lame. Your app development is probably lame too. Go back to your old school Blackberry, and leave iPhone development to the big boys with a real app store.

Just got my first iPhone, which I had to purchase for app development. iPhone is way over-hyped and very disappointing - long on form, short on function. For example, while every other mobile phone in the world permanently shows the time and date in the status bar, iPhone shows only the time (the date shows only in locked mode). And since we pay for text messages per 160 characters, a character counter while composing messages would have been nice. Sorry Apple, but my BlackBerry leave iPhone in the dust...
