Good news, pre-paid fans! You’ve got a new handset coming to your corner of the market. We can’t promise anything for sure, but we’ve got good reason to believe that Virgin Mobile will be getting the LG Rumor 2 sometime in the coming weeks.
Our source didn’t reveal whether the Rumor 2 would be on the pre-paid or post-paid (Helio) side of Virgin Mobile’s offerings – but as all of the current contracted options sport 3G capabilities and the Rumor 2 doesnt, we’re inclined to think it’ll be a pre-paid deal. This phone currently goes for anything between $80 bucks and nothin’ but a contract depending on which Sprint outlet you go through, so we wouldn’t expect it to break the bank on Virgin Mobile. We’ll update you if we hear more.
Well, the coolest phone we will see fits for fashion young people. Signed a two years contract is very easy for people who want it. Good news!

Be careful getting a virgin mobile phone. I was using one on campus just the other day when this hot babe asked me if i was on welfare. WELFARE. I just googled it and found out that Virgin has a new low income phone, i guess using virgin makes you low income. I know this as a babe told me as such.

I just called virgin mobile to upgrade my arc that I have now. They said the phone will be coming out in August and it will sell for $129. I’ve had virgin for 5 years never dropped a call ever and I have lived in two different state in that time. My sis has t-mobile and everytime we take a trip out of town her calls get dropped and we always use my phone to call when were out of state. P.S. Metro PCS sucks!!!!
You can get a upgrade for phones at Virgin mobile? How much did you pay?

We do not have an upgrade program, because we do not require contracts for our service. You can simply replace your Virgin Mobiel phone by buying a new one.
We do have a lost/stolen phone replacement program that attempts to provide you a replacement phone either like the one you lost, or with another model of the same or lesser value.

I emailed them about this phone and they gave me a smart ass answer saying the phone is only available in Canada. and not the USA.

I was told a by a VM rep USA that this phone will be released exclusively to Radio Shack on Aug. 28th 2009 to VM customers for about a month, then it will be able thru VM themselves. It will cost about $129.00.
I have been counting the day to a more reliable VM phone, LG isnt bad.

Virgin mobile told me that the roumor 2 was going to be 3G, but it’s not. What is the point of putting out a new phone if it’s not better than the old ones. I might as well buy the xtc. I’m switching to boost.

We’re really sorry for the miscommunication. Unfortunately, the Rumor 2 is not a 3G device, but honestly, I don’t think you’re going to be disappointed. And while I understand you’re disappointment, going to Boost Mobile will not get you 3G devices or services, either.
If you want 3G speeds because of browsing, I recommend downloading the Opera Mini Browser, as it provides a much quicker, robust web browsing experience. And it’s free to download!
Again, sorry to disappoint, but I think if you give it a chance, you’ll be quite pleased. Also keep in mind the Rumor 2 will soon support navigation and maps, something the X-tc will/does not.
