I loved the Monkey Island series when I was growing up and I still have the original disks. Given that I’m perfectly happy playing the original with ScummVM on my jailbroken iPod. That way I also get to play “Day of the Tentacle” – another amazing game and “Flight of the Amazon Queen” – now available for free!! Controls are similar to those you described but the graphics aren’t as pretty as those above.

I remember pouring over this game (but actually never beating it) several times in my youth. I saw it son Steam recently as well. I might have to get it again and give it another whirl.
