Are you really surprised at how fast the FCC jumped on this? Lets look at some facts.

Who controls the FCC?
The three chairmen appointed by the current president.

Who served on the current president’s transition team and help raised oddles of money?
Eric Schmidt, the CEO of Google

Who is pushing for electronic medical records?
The White House, and of course Eric Schmidt and Google

Eric and Google are the unofficial technology Czars at the White House. Watch for Google to get its way, in a big way, over the next three and a half years.

The FCC got involved a little too fast over just one application getting nixed. I’m not much of a black helicopters guy, but this smells of black helicopters and tinfoil hats.

If Apple continues on its current course of total control of the phones/apps, users will abandon ship for something cheaper, less controlled, and new. Look how fast the Macbook Air was rendered useless by a $300 netbook.

Well if Apple wants to screw AT&T – they approve Google Voice – as well as every other Voice over IP apps they’ve turned down and just say “well, it’s all our decision, so why not.”

And to agree with Bosey, there are a lot of people that don’t realize that Verizon has been one of the more restrictive carriers in terms of allowing features on phones – talk to anyone that owned the Razor. Verizon removed a ton of features that were available on AT&T and T-mobile.

I’m not dropping AT&T. If you think verizon is any better just try to visit apple.com, tmobile.com, or att.com on a verizon phone. And you think AT&T is bad hah.
