Look – we love the Touch Pro 2, if only because the slide-out QWERTY keyboard is one of the most comfortable and usable keyboards we’ve ever used. We loved it even more once HTC started sneaking 3.5mm jacks into it. But hot damn, T-Mobile wants a lot of money for this thing.
According to a pricing sheet leaked to TmoNews, the Touch Pro 2 is going to set folks back $349 bucks. And that’s on a 2-year contract! Folks only willing to make a 1 year bloodpact have to drop down another $50 bucks, and those looking to get it contract free are going to have to put down $549. Yeeesh. That makes the Touch Pro 2 T-mobile’s most expensive phone, followed far behind by the myTouch and Wing, both at $199 on a 2 year contract. Hell, that makes it one of the most expensive on-contract phones on any carrier.
Lets just hope T-Mobile’s planning to drop a few surprise rebates before this thing goes on sale tomorrow. We like you, Touch Pro 2. But I’m not sure we 400-dolllars like you.

I’ll still buy it. I expected $399 with a mail in rebate for $100 though.
Had to pay $650 for the Apache/ PPC-6700 even after it was out a year or two (contract free)
I read that the phone will be $299 for 2 year and $349 for a 1 year. I’m not complaining to much because its going to be an amazing phone with a QWERTY keyboard.
$349 AFTER rebate, on contract (two year). guaranteed that’s the (absurdly high) price. people “quoting t-mo reps” at $299 or $279 have bad information.
T-Mobile has terrible marketing because they dont even have the phone on there website. When the Palm Pre released for Sprint everyone knew about it. T-Mobile really needs to step their game up if they want to compete with Verizon, Sprint, and AT&T.
I just spoke to the folks at T-Mobile and this phone, as expensive as it is, is *not* a 3G phone. Can you believe that?
Okay, I just checked the website before bed and the information on the website is that the phone is 3G. It seems that it was another case of the script monkey that was answering the phone was clueless, not something uncommon these days.
Bob – the T-Mobile Touch Pro2 is a 3G device, running TMO’s AWS (Band IV) flavor of 3G.
doesn’t have micro-USB, ? on the 3.5mm jack, runs WinMo not Android, too expensive, ? on 3G…..FAIL.
i’m curious what MOTO is cooking, that morrison and sholes look pretty sweet.
I COMPARE EVERY PHONE TO THE IPHONE CAUSE ITS THE NEW STANDARD, I DONT WANT AN IPHONE BUT I WOUL PAY 299 FOR IT B4 I PAY 349 FOR ANY OTHER PHONE.
I am speechless!
I don’t know which appalls me more – that price tag or (according to some comments listed above) that people are willing to and would pay that?
well in that is a rediculas price! i bought the HTC
Pro through alltel for like 280 a year ago. But not only does the price suck the HTC phone lines suck as well. I have went through 4 HTC phones bc the keyboard quits working and the touch screen freezes all the time. i will never buy another HTC phone again.
For those Canadian who have Telus provider, they have it ! 249 to 649$

I’m sure the price will get down.
Man forget the touch pro 2 i was so interested in the phone but for the price tag it lacks so many things,no micro sd card you have to buy your own,no 3.5 mm head jack are you serious for the price man i taught we were in a recession.i dont like the iphone but atleat if the charging top $ they atlleast willing to invest in a 3.5mm head jack(been with t-mobile for 9 yrs am so dissapointed)
