Last time we saw the HTC Hero grace the labs of the FCC with its presence, it was swimming chin deep in GSM 850/1900Mhz territory – otherwise known as AT&T’s turf. Things got interesting when, just a few weeks later, a product page for a Sprint-branded HTC Hero popped up. Sprint and AT&T use two totally different radio technologies; where was this one’s FCC entry?

Just lagging behind a bit, it seems. EngadgetMobile just spotted the Hero floating around the labs for a second time, this time with mentions of CDMA plastered all over it. It’s absolutely undeniable now: be on the look out for a Sprint HTC Hero – and soon, we hope.

  • Hopefully they both get it then. I have no use for Sprint and their no signal in parts of Texas. Been down that road and don’t want to do it again.

  • As a US Sprint customer, my options have been mostly limited to WinMobile, Blackberry, and Palm. Not interested in blackberry … although i currently own a Palm Centro … although it is a reasably good phone, i have not been suitably impressed with the OS or freeware apps . Yes i said it FREEWARE. There … WinMobile had the market cornered! My mogul was a wonderful little computer … despite the frequent need for soft resets … but a really cruddy phone. When i read about Android i got all excited … but … alas no phones on the Sprint network. Share your review with me at http://www.HTC-Hero.com a site for HTC Hero fans.
