This is a bit of inside baseball but Nokia is pulling out of Mobile World Congress and will not have a booth. Their citing costs as well as their current access to carriers as the reason.
The show, which is held yearly in Barcelona, has seen its numbers decline every year. Last year it saw 47,000, not bad but not great. With vendor consolidation it looks like the only folks with anything to show there will be manufacturers with smartphones running Android or WinMo.

Question is- did they ever really need MWC for access to carriers? Weird excuse…
they’re obviously pulling an Apple, and are probably happy with the coverage they have been getting from Nokia world. Control of release calendars is what’s this is about…?
Looks like they want to focus on their own party. Or maybe the beer’s just better in Stuttgart ;-)
The main reason they are pulling out is because MWC operators are charging exorbanent fees next year just to set up booth… Nokia’s been discussing this one internally since last March.
