This is strange, even for a wireless carrier. Both the enV Touch and enV3 launched in May at $179 and $129, but then dropped down to $149 and $99, which is about right. After all, non-smartphones generally only stay at their original price for a few months. But now both of these phones are back up to their starting price. Why?
We hit up a couple of our Verizon tipsters and they indicated that these two phones are some of their best sellers, which leads us to believe that VZW is just trying to milk it. The carrier has been heavily pushing both of them on TV spots recently. Or maybe the phones just dropped in price for a back-to-school sale. Who knows.

Or maybe they’re just Republican pieces of greedy garbage.
Or maybe they’re like the current administration, slowly and sneakily raising the middle class taxes without telling anyone. Its hard to say, really.
also, you’re a moron Tony for trying to make this political. I could really go on all day even though it doesn’t necessarily mean you are a democrat for saying something against republicans. Don’t be stupid, its a technology news site not CNN.
OOOOOH you TOLD me. I guess I’ll go curl up in the corner now. Republican=Greedy and Verizon=Greedy. Sorry if you can’t put those together.
Upgrading all 5 phones on family plan. Last Saturday, my son bought the Touch for $99 after $100 rebate. My other son was at work. The Salesperson said he could come in next week and get his Touch for the same price. We went in on Tuesday and all prices had changed. They would not let him get the phone for the $99 after rebate. I called Verizon to complain, they said the prices went up and the store knew they were going up and should not have said we could come in later…now, 4 upgrades, 1 waiting for the prices to come down again. I hate these games.

Supply and demand you idiot. Businesses are in business to make money. Your an idiot buddy. Your the same people that thing all business are evil. Moran.
You should really learn how to spell before you try to call someone else an “idiot” or a “moron”. There is a difference between “you’re” and “your”. You must be a Republican. BTW, in case you haven’t been paying attention to the news, Verizon is sponsoring a right-wing event which is why I made those comments. I know businesses are in it to make money, but compare Verizon’s prices and tactics to Sprint’s and then get back to me.
That was lucky for me. I just bought the Env3 a month ago (at the reduced price)
this is actually very normal for vzw. they’ve been doing it for years. both the original env and the dare (among others) went up and down several times. basically what happens, is they will have an lg promotion for a month, and they all drop. and then the next month they will promote samsungs. the samsungs will drop in price and the lgs will go back up… etc. vzw definitely charges too much for their regular phones, but at least where i live, they have the best service, so they unfortunately get my money.
