While the N900’s software is still being finalized, the hardware is in it’s final form, and it’s a beautiful and solid device. While the hardware could be improved (with possibly a bigger battery), I think that losing the keyboard to get a capacitive screen is a mistake. If anything and larger 4 or 5 row keyboard should be considered.

There have been plenty of evidences that N900 would be available from T-mobile under their rumoured Project Dark. It is going to be one of the T-mobiles flagship device to compete with AT&T, Sprint and now Verizon. Just wait and watch.

About N920, no one can say yet, as the device itself hasn’t been officially announced.

Is this thing ever going to be available through one of the US carriers? Or does Nokia really think that people are willing (en masse) to pay $700 for a phone?

Maemo 6 is not mythical, its official. It was announced in Maemo world before a week or so.
