Verizon released the BlackBerry OS 5.0 update alongside the Storm2 launch date this morning. I just had to try it out as I had ranked the BlackBerry Storm as the worst phone ever made. I’ve only had the update loaded for about an hour so far, but everything seems slightly better including the reception, responsiveness, and the iPhone-like effects. I still don’t like the phone but at least it seems usable now.

Yawn..same boring OS, nothing new. It finally looks as resoponsive as the iPhone was in 2007.
And I bet the browser still SUCKS
New improved OS (5.0) and faster browser, what is there not to like? consumers wanted WiFI and the Storm 2 delivers on that.
The OS is still a mess and the virtual keyboard is pathetic.
The OS does look more responsive.
This will make BB users smile.
I’m digging it so far, have to use this for work until Feb….then I’ll be getting the Tour. Upgraded to a Blackberry with no keyboard!! WTF was I thinking!
When I gotta punch out 50 emails a day on this thing, it makes me want to shoot myself, I dont care how responsive the screen gets, still NO COMPARISON TO THE REAL THING! I’m calm now..
What a lame ass link-bait headline. “Turns into an iPhone clone” begets “I still don’t like the phone but at least it seems usable now.”
Really, Matt? Shame on you. I thought you were better than that lame-ass Gizmodo/BGR crap.
Fun fact: The BlackBerry Storm is Matt’s primary phone.
While he could have an iPhone (i’ve offered him my 3G), he chooses not to.
Fun fact: Then he’s a retard. That phone sucks. I had one. For a day. I returned that mess as fast as I could, lest Canada be disgraced in public.
So..someone is a retard (no no word!) because they dare to use sometime other than iphone?
Wow…yer a dik…
When the keyboard comes up, just swipe down on it and it goes away. OS5 is a huge improvement and yes, it is much the same, just greatly refined. If you ask me, it is a very productive intuitive OS.
Hated the phone when it kept locking up on me when I used uber twitter now the phone works really well!
