Way back in early October, we broke the story that an LG Lotus 2 was in the works. At the time, more than a few people didn’t seem to believe that a followup to the original Sprint Lotus would rock a touchscreen on the face. This morning, pics of the device have surfaced, and whaddya know – its got a touch screen.

Our sources still pin this one on a launch sometime in January, so if the idea of an LG Lotus decked out with a touchscreen and support for 32GB microSD cards gets you all hot around the collar, you don’t have too much longer to wait.

  • That is really ugly! I hav the first one and I love it, the new one is not that great looking at all. Not excited about this now that I have seen it. Next!!

  • I’m hoping that this is not the final phone…it’s plain and just….ugh, whereas the Lotus was sharp and eye-catching.

  • Hmmmm… those rounded corners look a bit too feminine for me, as well as that half-chrome sleeved hinge. Why’d LG do away with the previous hinge? I find it works really well. Nice external screen size… looks as big as the internal one. Are they both touch screens? I certainly hope so. If not, forget it–I’m done with the Lotus.

  • That hinge thing on top is U-G-L-Y! LG better get a handle on this because I can get a touch screen with alot more going for it than this. I have the purple one and I love it, but I’m in no hurry to trade for this!

  • I dont like the new design. The chrome hinge looks as though they were trying to show that the phone can be opened? Touch screen is a major improvement but 32 gigs of memory may be a little overkill for those that dont plan to store full length movies on their phone. I would like to see the orginal case with the internal screen as the touch screen. A black berry style track ball would be nice for the thumb pad for Opera mini web browsing. Now that would be a nice lotus.
