Google has made it absolutely no secret that the Nexus One is heading to Verizon. They announced it the very same day they announced the T-Mobile version that’s already floating around, and have had it listed as “Coming Soon” ever since.
Alas, neither Google or Verizon is willing to spill the beans on when it’s coming. “Spring 2010!” they say, as if that satiates our desire for mundane details. But wait! There’s good news: the VZW Nexus One just took a huge step toward hitting retail.
Earlier today, a CDMA-friendly Nexus One (model PB99300, where the GSM version is PB99100) successfully fought its way through the FCC’s testing labs. Somewhere out there, there exists a fully functional, Verizon-compatible Nexus One, just waiting to be stuffed in a box and thrown on the shelves. FCC clearance isn’t a surefire indication that a launch is near, but we rarely ever see it more than a month or so before sales begin.
If the CDMA Nexus One launches any time soon, it ought to be Verizon’s first Android phone powered by a 1 Ghz Snapdragon processor. Excited? You should be.

Can’t wait! Been checking google.com/phone regularly since the T-Mobile one was released.
I guess we can have all the tests that we need, but in the end it’ll be up to our preference if we’ll use that phone or not. Nexus One, why should we wait again? http://bit.ly/nexus-one-comparissons
This is indeed great news. I am going to buy on the spot.
Love this phone
Just like the GSM version can be purchased directly from Google to be used on either T-Mobile or AT&T, will the CDMA ver. be able to be used on either VZ or Sprint?
Looking forward to Verizon offering cheaper plans for people who buy the phone at full price. Otherwise, what’s the point of buying an unlocked phone which will work only on one network?
will be a massive seller.
they should iterate this model…once every yr. just keep updating…new hardware and sensors (two mics was a nice start) but we want front facing cam…near field (for credit card)…
Faster.
Lighter.
u get the idea…
GOOGLE. Make it happen. WE WILL BUY.
So, will Verizon and Google then give a free phone to all those who bought the Droid under the belief that it’s the definitive Google/Android phone, only to have the rug pulled out from under them a month later?
Yes, I’m bitter.
I’d buy the Nexus One today if I could get it on Sprint. Google and Sprint, please open up talks. I’ve been pretty disappointed Sprint hasn’t had more Android offerings. Google promoted the N1 as the device of openness that would free consumers from carrier exclusivity and restrictions. Sprint appears to be the only left that lacks support for the N1.
