The last we heard the Nexus One was navigating its way through the FCC and Verizon was targeting a “Spring 2010″ launch. But now there’s a rumor floating around that states quite clearly that March 23, 2010 will be the launch date. Interesting…

We reached out to our Verizon contacts and none of them could confirm this date. But the rumor doesn’t originate from a Verizon source, but rather someone within Google. The March 23rd date does fit within the Spring 2010 launch window and also happens to be during the CTIA wireless conference. So even though this is purely a rumor at this point, you may wanna hold of on your phone buying decisions a bit longer as the rumored launch date is less than 30 days away. The Nexus One is noice.

  • This looks exciting. I look forward to getting rid of my HTC TouchPro2. I bought it last October (2009) running Windows Mobile 6.1. I just received a notice from Verizon that I can upgrade to 6.5. However, there is no way to back up even the most basic of configuration information like email accounts and favorites. Downloaded applications – you must be kidding.

No wonder Microsoft is losing market share like crazy. I will never touch a product again from them.

But Verizon is not blame free here. They are the company from whom I bought this piece of s… Verizon is the company I pay every month.

At the very least, they should post a warning. If you buy a product using Windows you are stuck with it and all it’s bugs for two years.

    • I was planning on waiting until June to see what the new Iphone has in store but the Incredible sounds pretty, ummm, what’s the word I’m thinking of? It means really amazing, extraordinary, I hate when this happens…

Oh well hopefully this one will be the answer for some of the problems N1 has: http://bit.ly/nexus-one-glitches-compiled

    • Couldn’t agree more about the touch pro 2, love the keyboard but thats about it. Windows sucks and can’t wait to get either Nexus one or the incredible

  • No offense to VZW but what about Sprint? I mean, Google promoted and positioned this device as the open handset that would free consumers from carrier exclusivity and restrictions. So we’ve got T-Mo, AT&T and VZW support N1, where is Sprint support?

I’m looking to upgrade soon to an Android device but unwilling to change carriers due to past poor customer experiences.

    • It looks like sprint really dropped the ball on this one Chris. Maybe you could buy an unlocked nexus one and run it on sprint’s 2G so you could get the best of both worlds- the phone you want on the carrier that makes you happy?

    • Technically speaking AT&T is not supported yet, we’re still waiting for news (aside from an FCC label rumor) that an N1 is coming our way.

Personally, and no offense, but I can’t see Google releasing a Sprint version before AT&T.

  • Wonder when the HTC INCREDIBLE will be at Verizon and how it would compare to the Nexus One? They both seem to be a few steps above the Droid.

  • Thats cool that the nexus one is coming soon but I would want to wait till the incredible comes out. If the incredible does have a 1.5 ghz why not get the most up to date phone out there. can not wait to spoil myself later on.

    • You do have a good point about getting the most updated phone but the way I see it is if you are always waiting to get the best thing out then you will never upgrade..Every week there is something coming out that will outdo a previous version..Im just going to get the N1 and see whats new in two years when its time to upgrade again..Who knows in 2 years they might have in ear cell phone inplants that you can get..lol

  • I break down and buy a Droid last Thursday, did not wish to change services… now they make the announcement. Looks like I need two lines :-)

    • ..or to use that verizon 30 day exchange policy! If the date is correct you should fall just inside the cutoff date (just don’t send in the UPC/rebate).

  • Shop soccer jerseys, soccer shirts at http://www.soccerjerseysstore.com or http://www.soccerjerseysshop.com,you will get big discount and free shipping

  • Ppl have no clue how big this is.

This phone is a monster. It has all its kinks worked out by now AND GOOGLE + VERIZON SHOULD PUSH IT HARD.

But bottom line. Millions of ppl are on Verizon AND Millions of ppl who switched (like me BB Bold) hate AT&T’s dropped calls.

I’m ready to come home Verizon…NexusOne is the phone that is going to get me there. Web+Apps+ (Instant email). Make me sure! there is push email on Android phones…is it “the same” as BB? consumers don’t know…ADVERTISE TO US. We need to know what the Google phone is. Apps – ya we know there are apps. Web (multi-touch – flash). EMAIL!!!!! (unclear)

We want to want you Google phone.

  • Nexus One will surely rock smart phone market with it’s launch. I wanted Sprint to pick this one but Verizon I think really used their power to the core to get this phone for it’s customers.

  • This is going to put AT&Ts I phone out of business,Lets just hope it works better than the Iphone.

  • Does anyone know if you will be able to use a upgrade to get the N1. My two year verizon upgrade is already here and i’ve been waiting to use it on this..

  • Nice, but is the phone really worth it?I have a G1 and happy with it but its just got alot of bugs but I use it for typing school work so the qwerty keyboard really comes through.

  • I have heard some bad things about Nexus One and the peopl who are buying this phone would br really disappointed when they buy it. Before buying this HTC phone you should get hands on this phone if possible.

  • My 2 years contract ends today, I was going to get a Droid until I heard about the Nexus One, I contacted my local Verizon store, they told me that it would be in store on 3/25/10. I can hardly wait.

  • Rec’d a FREE Droid at GDC last week for speakers, my Treo 755 is due for upgrade tomorrow, and I want the Nexus! Wonder if I can work a deal out with the free Droid I rec’d??? Can’t wait!

  • Search in Verizon Wireless’s Top Right search box for ‘nexus one’.

    Redirects to google.com/phone

  • Google website still says coming soon for Verizon.
