Chinese iPhone Air is super thin, super fake

Come, friends! Circle ’round and let me tell you a tale of the finest fake in all the lands. Is your standard, completely not-shady iPhone too thick and legitimate for you? 12.3mm thick? That’s like a loaf of bread! What you need, friend, is the iPhone Air. Not only have they managed to completely rip off everything from the body design to the user interface (presumably poorly), but they’ve also stuffed it all into a package just 8.5mm thick!

Trademark infringement? Pah! This is China, friend! Plus, it’s got WiFi! And Edge! App Store? What’s an App Store? This has all the apps you’ll ever need. Like a random browser claiming to be Internet Explorer.

And how much will this plunge into crazytown set you back? For you, friend, just 880 Chinese Yuan — or roughly 117 dollars. Where are you going, friend? Friend?

  • Apple: “We’re going to sue you for trademark and patent infringement.”
Chinese Phone Salesguy: “Our phone can multitask, install any apps, and has a user replaceable battery and memory card.”
    Apple: “Oh… Never mind.”

    • had my phone for three years now. still can’t figure this out. why would i want to do any of those things with my phone. never need to do more than one thing at a time. got all the apps i want. battery life is great. never need to worry about the memory.

      it’s not a desktop computer. it’s a phone.

and, before i owned this phone, i owned a windows mobile samsung thing. i could change the battery (good cuz in two years, i had to twice), i could swap out a memory card (good cuz it came with none), i had apps provided by MS (which sucked) and it couldn’t multitask (which was never a problem… it’s a phone).

      • I’m not a geek about the phones like many here are, but I will say, my iPhone battery sucks. As far as apps, there are a lot of restrictions. I really really want Grooveshark and Google voice, I can’t have either. And, as far as multitasking goes… I have no clue if I need that. But if mutitasking will help with the stupid closing of one app to jump to the internet and not return easily, I’m all for it.

      • If china cloners can clone this iPhone, then I will still definitely but it!

  • I’m sure something of similar form factor is somewhere down the line in iPhone product development … smaller size and color choice.

880 RMB is less than 100 EUR … not bad at all.

  • I wouldn’t be surprised if the form factor here is the next generation of the iphone evolution. If it is, what would be funny would be that a Chinese fake beat the actual iphone to market.

But, since Apple hasn’t even hinted at another generation of iphones, we cannot really say anything for better or worse at the moment. And IE on an iphone? hahaha!

  • multitask is nice…

    like while surfing the web
being on msn and listening to music

    battery life on smart-phones sucks..
if you have 4 hours of online time its a lot…((3G+)Wifi+screen+music+occasional GPS)
(on HTC Hero, which despite i still love :) )

  • So soon we gonna have phones looking like cold arms. World’s going crazy by shrinking everything down.

  • It even has an FCC logo on the back! lol

  • i m going to buy the super thin super fake!
perhaps it is gonna better than real iphone!

  • @shahram: That’s because Wang Mike-Jobs, their CEO, decided “no one needed [a] Flash”… ;-)

  • Lay off the MacFanbois will you?? It is their money and if they choose to put it in Steve’s pocket it’s their lookout. Personally, I’d have an iPhone – when it is free. I have a $80 dollar phone that does everything I want – even my girlfriend likes it. But asking for multitasking in a phone has to be a joke. What do they want to do? Host a web server while running Photoshop?

  • The fake Iphone (airphone) really looks nice. The question is HOW LONG does it last? I am not talking about the battery life.

    • Chinese phones are GUARANTEED to last for 6 months or until the 2 batteries die out – whichever happens sooner. What more would you want? My nephew has a choice of 2 chinese phones to play with – saves having to buy him a gift every Christmas.

  • Chinese phones are good remember all panels are made by them, some they can clone (fake) any damn phone.
What more the clones are even better than thier originals, so what are u waitng for my chinese iphone can run windows 7.

  • Clone and fake have different definitions each other. Get it, guys? Same system, same look, similar logo, cheap price, reliable quality mobile phones as brand ones in vkamobi from China. You rather check it out
