There’s no question that the Droid Incredible is one of Verizon’s best handsets right now, but supply issues are preventing customers from getting one. The latest delay pushes the ship date back to August 5th. That’s, well, incredible.
At first the word was HTC was having issues getting a hold of AMOLED screens, pushing shipments back to the middle of July. That could still be true, but if you’re down, there could be a bit of conspiracy going on here. Tin foil hat time.
Quick question: What phone launches next week? The Droid X.
It could be entirely possible that Verizon themselves told HTC to take their time and wait until they can ship the phones with AMOLED screens like the original shipments for the side benefit of giving the Droid X a bit of breathing room for its launch.
Either way it’s more bad news bears for those waiting for the Incredible. With HTC Sense, 1GHz processor, and HTC’s ever-so-sexy design, people wanna buy it. Too bad they can’t.
Wow, don’t I feel like the lucky monkey for getting one launch week. Too bad for HTC, they could be selling triple what they are of this handset if the AMOLED issue didn’t exist. It’s a killer phone, looks like it may be destined to be exclusive…in another month’s time there won’t be nearly the demand for it that there is now.
Yeah, got the last one from best buy day of launch. Lucky me I guess. Love the phone. Roommate has evo and honestly it doesn’t give any more screen estate, everything is just larger. And for a large phone like the evo my incredible has a nicer looking screen with deeper blacks.
Screw the AMOLED screen. I’ve had my phone for about six weeks and my home screen is already burned in. I’m taking it back to Verizon and complaining until they let me switch to a Droid X or can guarantee me an Incredible with an LCD.
I originally made the mistake of buying my Incredible on Verizon’s site and had to wait for a couple weeks for it to come in. I didn’t make the same mistake when buying my wife’s Incredible this past Saturday from Wirefly; she received the phone on Wednesday.
People are better off just checking Amazon and Wirefly for online, and even check your local Walmart or Bestbuy.
Incredible is a nice phone when it works. I got mine on pre-order at 1st launch. 2 weeks the phone wouldnt turn on. Verizon sent me a certified like new replacement. Yesterday the replacement stopped working. I am now getting another cert. like new replacement.
This sucks that the original phone was bought new but the verizon wont give me a new replacement. To be on your 3rd Incredible for a phone that came out in April is hard to swallow. Makes me wonder why verizon already has certified like new Incredibles in stock to ship out
There is no conspiracy, at least not on Verizons end. Pretty much every day since I have been checking, the available day gets bumped back one day every day.

ordered mine on 6/18, fed ex delivery is for 7/14. 5 days before promised date. so Verizon is shipping just not immediately for new orders
